The test page contains a small JavaScript application that takes what you put in a text box, and makes a history entry out of it &#8211; a <a href=\"http:\/\/unfocus-history-keeper.googlecode.com\/svn\/trunk\/examples\/HistoryKeeper.html#This is a deep link!\">deep link<\/a> will display that history entry in the body of the page as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/unfocus-history-keeper\/downloads\/list\" title=\"Download the latest release of unFocus History Keeper deep linking tools\">Download the latest release archive<\/a> from the downloads page on the <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/unfocus-history-keeper\/\">google code site<\/a>. You will find <em>two<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/dean.edwards.name\/packer\/\">packer<\/a> compressed JavaScript files in the root of the archives, unFocus-History-p.js and unFocus-HistorySwf-p.js.<\/p>\n<p><strong>unFocus-History-p.js contains:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EventManager.js<\/li>\n<li>History.js<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>unFocus-HistorySwf-p.js contains:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EventManager.js<\/li>\n<li>History.js<\/li>\n<li>FlashPlayerInfo.js<\/li>\n<li>SwfUtilities.js<\/li>\n<li>SwfHTML.js<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE: You should include only one of the two files, not both.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can also check out the latest version from <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/unfocus-history-keeper\/source\">SVN<\/a> from either the <a href=\"http:\/\/unfocus-history-keeper.googlecode.com\/svn\/trunk\/\">trunk<\/a> (I try to keep it working there, but no guarantees) or one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/unfocus-history-keeper.googlecode.com\/svn\/tags\/\">tagged releases<\/a> (each release gets a tag) if you want to be cutting edge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enables <strong>back button<\/strong> support, for your client-side web apps!<\/li>\n<li>Hash based <strong>deep linking<\/strong> (Anchor Style &#8211; index.html#\/foo\/bar)<\/li>\n<li>Event driven &#8211; Event Dispatcher<\/li>\n<li>Support for all current browsers:\n<ul>\n<li>Opera<\/li>\n<li>Firefox<\/li>\n<li>Safari 1.2+<\/li>\n<li>IE 5.5+<\/li>\n<li>Google Chrome<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Known Limitations: (I have to confirm if many of these are still a problem)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All history entries (back button states) modify the location string.<\/li>\n<li>Doesn&#8217;t remember last entry if you leave the app and come back in some browsers (that&#8217;s a bug, I&#8217;ll fix it).<\/li>\n<li>Editing the url manually will stop further updates to the url in some browsers.<\/li>\n<li>Konqueror support is still a bit flaky (this history is off by one in an odd way).<\/li>\n<li>Deep linking and back\u00a0 button functionality relies on ExternalInterface &#8211; so &#8220;allowScriptAccess&#8221; has to be set and working (platform defendant) for History Keeper to work (though you can actually get deep linking to work using flashvars, in a pinch).<\/li>\n<li>Make sure whatever embed solution you are using, you have set the &#8220;id&#8221; attribute on your object or embed tag.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Related Links &#8211; Note: I&#8217;m trying to put links to everyone who helped me out over the years.
